Where does the Check a Property info come from and can I update it?

We explain how property details are sourced and why they might not always be spot on.

How we get property data

When you use Unloan’s Check a Property tool, we aim to give you the most accurate and helpful info available. To do that, we partner with Domain, one of Australia’s leading property marketplaces.

Domain pulls property details from:

  • Government data records

  • Iinformation from real estate agents

  • Publicly available data websites

If a property price range estimate isn’t showing, it usually means Domain couldn’t find enough data to generate one.

Why some details might look off

Sometimes, the property info might not match what you know. That can happen for a few reasons, which may include:

  • The property’s had major renovations since its last sale

  • It has unique features or finishes

  • There are errors in historical data

  • Nearby properties are affecting the estimate

The estimated price range is just a starting point. For a more accurate picture, it’s worth checking recent sales in the area or speaking with a real estate agent or valuer.

Can I fix incorrect property details?

We get it, seeing incorrect property info can be frustrating. While we can’t manually update or add property data, you can head to Domain’s website to learn more about how they manage it. If you still need help, give Domain’s customer service team a call on 1800 817 616.
